Mr. Harry Carter

It is with sadness I have to report the passing of Harry Carter. Harry was one of the early members of E Company 1st Battalion The Yorkshire Volunteers. When things were rough and ready he was always there and when the hard work needed doing. He was a God send on recee patrols as he was never caught, no one was daft enough to try. He always looked after his mates and became a very popular company institution, more than once the NCO’s of E Company pleaded his case and the officers listened. A nice person who will be missed by a lot of people. Leslie F. Shepherd.
